ABOUT BOUTWELL SCHABROWSKY

Boutwell Draper Gallery was founded in 2001 in Sydney, Australia. The gallery focused on artists particularly from the Asia Pacific region, who work in a broad range of media, from painting and photography to sculpture, installation, video and digital arts.

The gallery also presented well known international artists such as Curtis Anderson, Andy Goldsworthy, Ian Hamilton Finlay, Ryoji Koiji, Yong Deok Lee, Jay Mark Johnson, Christina Lissmann, Martin Mlecko, Ulrich Ruckreim and Rosemarie Trockel.

In September 2017, Susan Boutwell launched a new exhibition program in Munich, Germany and was later joined by Marion Schabrowsky in 2021.

“Together we focus on innovative and highly individual emerging and established artists. We will continue to work and show artists from Australia and New Zealand.

Beyond our immediate artistic program, we organise and support art projects and special events with which we aim to benefit a wider art community. Lectures on art and concerts are a vital part of our gallery activities.”

The gallery occupies an airy ground floor space within a 70-year old national trust building designed by the famous German architect Sepp Ruff located in the heart of Munich’s museums’ district.
