Christina Maria Pfeifer
Christina Maria Pfeifer artist, performer and posthuman animal, conducts artistic research in the microbiological field of fungi and in the digital field of artificial intelligence. The focus of her recent work is on the development of artistic practices, forms of transdisciplinary and human-non-human cooperation and feminist subversion strategies. The principle of her approach is radical gentleness. She works with drawing, sculpture, video, photography, meditation and installation. In 2019, she received the Wimmelforschung’s Grant from Akademie Schloss Solitude Stuttgart in cooperation with Bosch GmbH, Campus for Research and Advance Engineering in Renningen.

Together with the video artist Johannes Evers, she formed the performance group "Professional Opening Hours" from 2013-2015. From 2020-2021 she was a member of the group "Non/Post-Human Ecosystems of Knowledge" led by Aouefa Amoussouvi (biophysicist and art-and-science curator, Berlin). In 2021 she founded the transdisciplinary group "Transfungal Ensemblage" with Katrin Seiler. She lives and works in Munich, attended Andrea Fogli's drawing class (2016) and Klaus vom Bruch's new media class (2018) at the ISA, Salzburg, studied political economy and Romance studies and graduated with a doctorate. Before devoting herself exclusively to art, she worked as a social scientist and scientific advisor in international politics and economics.
