I call it the BLUE PAINTING

On the left a blue-grey, denser, on the right an almost transparent, light blue area. Between the two lies a threshold through which I can enter the pictorial space. An interplay between my being in the picture and me looking at it from the outside arises. I am looking at the picture and I am inside of it at the same time. Inside and outside coincide. I am aware of the narrow, dark blue slit between the two planes. Through this slit I can leave the picture space to the rear and also enter it from the front. An imaginary, red layer of paint pushes its way through the two blue surfaces. It reminds me of a revolving door, which spins me around the dark blue slit. New dimensions open up in all directions of the picture space. The blue-grey and light blue areas become one layer on top of the other or turn into walls in the space of the picture. Is here where we find the painterly mystery of the Blue Painting? Am I looking at a process which includes me the viewer in the creation of the painting?

Viewing the Blue Painting has shown me how the picture space turns into a mirror reflecting my experiences.
